Transcriptionist recognizes, interprets, and evaluates inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical dictation, and appropriately documents these inconsistencies. Transcribers must maintain AKVTS’s performance expectations. Transcription may include acute care, specialty clinic notes, medical oncology, hospice and injury reports. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, AAMT guidelines and procedures in the AAMT BOS. Some weekend work may be required either occasionally or consistently depending on work flow. Demonstrates an understanding of the medicolegal implications and responsibilities related to the transcription of patient records, including confidentiality, release of information, medical records as legal evidence, etc. Demonstrates ability to follow style guides and client account specifications of varying specialties. Checks formatting of reports before completion. Verifies demographic information for accuracy and completeness with available tools.
Inscribe Medical Transcription Plus 7 Years
Computer skills, including MS Word and Windows required. Ability to use excellent English grammar, punctuation and spelling. Excellent listening skills and ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles. Successful completion of Medical Transcription program or equivalent plus 7 years work experience in acute care, 5 years minimum in Medical Oncology.
